RSS Feeds
Many websites offer RSS feeds that allow you to view updates to a website either through an RSS news reader or directly from your browser. The value of RSS feeds is that you may monitor updates to your favorite websites without visiting multiple sites to get the latest news.
How to subscribe to an RSS feed using a news reader
- First, you need to download a news reader to your desktop. See a list of RSS readers below.
- Secondly, subscribe to websites that offer RSS feeds by right clicking on the RSS button, then copy and paste the url into your reader. Most feeds would be indicated by an RSS button.
How to subscribe to an RSS feed through your browser
- If the feed button in your browser lights up, it means that the site offers RSS feeds. Click on the RSS button and subscribe to the feed.
- In Internet Explorer 2007, the feed will be added automatically to the Favorites Center. To view your feeds, click on the Favorites Center icon, a yellow star on your toolbar.
